Staff Lawyer
Lake Country Community Legal Clinic serves low income residents of the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound. Our main office is in Bracebridge with satellite offices in Huntsville, South River and the town of Parry Sound. We are looking for an experienced lawyer to provide legal services to our clients.
The successful candidate will be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada with legal experience in poverty law, including areas such as housing for tenants, disability law – both provincial and federal (ODSP and CPP), employment insurance, victims of crime, human rights and other matters of interest to low income residents of the area. The successful candidate is also expected to engage in law reform, community development, public legal education and test case litigation. Computer literacy and advanced writing skills necessary. Must have a vehicle and be able to travel. Start date is July 2012.
